I am traveling all the way from Eastern Montana to attend the Bumbershoot (I have an STP thing I cannot get over) and my friend and I are looking for some dancing and fun on our Friday and Saturday night at the end of August. Unfortunately, living in Eastern MT does not allow us to break out any of our fun fetish-wear. So we are looking to severely doll ourselves up in our best gear both nights, and hit a great club or function while in Seattle.

I've done a bit of online searching... but was hoping for a bit more insight and professional recommendations on a good and dark experience.

Thanks in advance- we truly appreciate it, and cannot wait to be in Seattle for a long (and hopefully fun) weekend!

Yes, six stories of condos are going in where these beloved bars (and Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen) now stand. They are a block long, not very good looking, and the developer does not want any bars underneath his condos (he's been sued before for noise complaints - same developer that had problems with the Twist in Beltown). They are small and expensive condos, there are no rental units planned in the building, and the price of the retail spaces is doubling (from 14 to 28 per square foot).

The good news is that there still might be something we can do to make this less bad. The condos will go in, but we're early enough in the Design Review Process that we might be able to affect the final shape this development takes. I'll be talking about this, and showing off the plans for the condos at the meeting below. Please come, please tell your friends, and please be ready to write a whole lot of constructively critical letters.

AUDITION NOTICE
The 2007 Seattle Erotic Art Festival (http://seattleerotic.org), taking place on March 16-18, 2007 at the new Fenix (1700 First Ave. S.) in Seattle, seeks performance artists age 18+ with unique and diverse talents to be part of several interactive performances throughout the festival weekend.

Talented individuals or troupes are encouraged to be a part of creating the exciting live experience to complement the juried and invited fine art on display.

SEAF's theme in 2007 is "Art Noir," replicating or modernizing the lush, iconic styles of the early part of the 20th century, with visions and motions that equivocate dark/moody/gritty, seductive, classy, tailored, styles of the various eras, with neo- or pseudo-era abstract interpretations thereof. Performances should be erotic/sensual (but not pornographic) in nature. We are looking for truly unique acts that intrigue the senses with striking visuals, movement/dance, possibly sound, and/or tactile experiences. We would love to feature talented performers representing global cultures, a variety of body shapes, sizes, ages, and balanced gender (biological or not).

Some performance ideas we are thinking of -- but definitely not limited to -- are:
•	Dancers – i.e. Argentine-style tango, flamenco, salsa
•	poised drag performances (male or female)
•	innovative cabaret (but not "typical" burlesque) acts
•	mimes/contortionists/acrobats in sensual situations
If you have talents that you'd like to contribute, or if you already have an act that you think would be appropriate for the theme, we encourage you to audition. Please send your letter of interest via email to the Performance Director. Please include:

-Your name
-Performance act title/talent
-Brief description of your act/talent and your experience
-Your phone number so we can call you to schedule a slot or ask questions
You may also include:
-Performance resumes (list shows, training, etc.)
-Headshot or performance photo (no larger than 600x400 pixels) or
video (URLs only, no attachments)
Auditions will be held Dec. 9, 10, 11 with callbacks on Dec. 17.

If you cannot make these dates, feel free to contact us anyway and we may be able to arrange for a special time to meet with you.

Performers will receive exposure during the festival as well as in SEAF public relations; hospitality food/beverages during performance; and passes to the Festival.
Hurray for all the Bridge-and-Tunnelers who made Sugar such a screaming success, so all the other venue owners think they can do the same. I live on Cap Hill and think I'll start going to the East Side to pee on their streets and puke on their sidewalks and yell REALLY LOUD at 2am.

While we were at the beach we saw a canopy tent with a skulls and a red swirl design on each side. One of the youngins of the group brought out his guartar (with metal band stickers) and a friend of his (dressed all in black) brought out his black body surfer board... I knew I wasn't the only one :)
When we got back to her place I looked up some stuff just to see what was out there on EBay and on the net in general. I found a black beach ball, Black canopy tents with a variety of designs such as Betty Boop, skulls, pirates, flames and so on... I would like to see if there are any more of us out there....

As one of England's leading bands of the 1980s, THE SISTERS OF MERCY played a slow, ponderous hybrid of metal and psychedelia, often incorporating dance beats; the one constant in the band's career has been deep-voiced singer Andrew Eldritch. (There is some disagreement as to whether the group took its name from an order of Catholic nuns or from the Leonard Cohen song of the same name.) Eldritch originally formed the band in 1980 with guitarist Gary Marx and recorded its first single with a drum machine dubbed Doktor Avalanche. Guitarist Ben Gunn and bassist Craig Adams were added to make live gigs feasible, and the Sisters built a reputation through several singles and EPs. Gunn left the band in 1983 and was replaced by Wayne Hussey. The Sisters of Mercy recorded their first full-length album, First and Last and Always in 1985. Now, twenty years later, the Sisters machine thunders on through 2006 with new chrome and vintage attitude. It still comes from northern England, and it still sounds like supercharged industrial psychedelia. Only better.

Eight of my most creative years happened when I lived in Seattle (1988-96) where I started making films and acted as editor of a rebel literati journal called TALKING RAVEN. I've been in Berkeley since leaving and very busy with my filmmaking projects and why I'm posting here.

On Feb. 22nd, the Northwest Film Forum will be screening the Seattle premiere of my new feature, "The Greater Circulation", a cinematic treatment of Rainer Maria Rilke's "Requiem for a Friend" and I'm trying to figure out ways to get the word out to the underground.

here's a link to the movie site which has a review, clip, pix, etc.

Besides tribe.net, what other e-lists or posting places can I approach for getting the word out about this event ?

any and all help greatly appreciated.
Writing on napkins.
Insperation only strikes me when I don't have my note book.
The brother next to me is going on and on about being naked at a bus stop with half eaten cheetos.
Another brother at the counter is laughing minacly about something completely different.
"I'm so tired" from the white album plays over and over again.
The laughter is becoming contagous. people are laughing. no one knows why.
The lady next to me(who I tell by looking at her, works at microsoft) is trying to act upset about the noise, but she laughing too, for no reason.

Why am I here? a good question. I don't know. I feel like I'm here for a reason, other then the fact i missed my bus. I missed my bus on purpose, but I don't know why. I seem to be trying to induce Insomnia, But I don't know why. Perhaps I belive it will make me a better person.

And what is a better person? Can people be graded? Grades A, B, C, D, and tripple X? Which is better: Grade A or Grade XXX?
Quarter to four. Past my bed time. Starting to trip out from fatigue. I am beyond the help of coffee.
The waitress is very pretty. Like Elvira at her day job.(which is of course the graveyard shift. a true goth.)

I think I'm either out here looking for myself or out here looking for a woman. A woman my speed, a woman who can drink till two, hang out and smoke cigarette and drink coffee til four, take a little walk and then fuck the sun up.

I don't think I see her at the 5 points cafe tonight. It's one of the only 24hour diners though. she's got to show up some time right?

I've discovered Tribe.com very recently and decided that I should do something about my hypocritical interest/distain for online communities. I'm not really one for journal-length entries so LJ is not really my cup o' tea. But I would like to combat my natural inclination to withdraw into my own self-concerned existence.

I've also rather recently discovered a more subtle aesthetic that some in my life would call "old and boring." (Rubbish!!) Though I've not been clubbing - save for the Skinny Puppy show - since relocating to Seattle 2 years ago. Who knew staying in could be so compelling??

Here is the bio for the gentleman that is doing the class.
Bio:

Mike is a long time bdsm lifestyler with some 30 plus years
experience. Kammy is his wife, slave and partner. They are well known
Mike has written perhaps the most comprehensive treatise about fire
play that is available.

deals with fire play techniques, but fire safety and burns. It is
divided into 4 parts: a discussion of theory; questions and answers;
a demonstration scene; making and practicing with torches.

The topics covered are:

(a) An introduction

(b) What fire play is and is not

(c) The objectives of fire play

(d) The equipment needed

(e) Fuels

(f) Torches

(g) Basic rules for fire play

(h) How to do fire play

(1) The warm up

(2) Where to start

(3) Unexpected things do happen

(4) Front play

(5) Fire balls and flashing

(6) Combining other play with fire play

(7) Bruises, stretch marks, piercings, etc.

(8) After care

(i) Fire and it safety

(j) Burns

Mike and kammy will be available all evening to answer questions and
help those who want to learn or experience fire play.

"To see tassels in a dream denotes that you will reach the height of your desires." -Gustav Hindman Miller, 1900s psychoanalyst

Based in Seattle, Washington with encampments in Portland and San Francisco, Glitzkrieg Burlesque was formed in 2004 by seven of the west coast's most dazzling ecdysiasts. Former members of The Gun Street Girls, Glitzkrieg's bombshells are ready to fight their "sparkly war" on your home front.

In a time when sex and entertainment are on the same par as fast food, Glitzkrieg offers seduction, secrecy, and surprise with a wink and a defiant middle finger. Glitzkrieg's cabaret style performances evoke the smoky noir of Weimar, Berlin; the back alley glam rock of the Lower East Side; and the macabre allure of Carnivale... all while remaining true to their burlesque roots.

Born in vaudeville houses at the turn-of-the-century, American burlesque was a campy, bawdy mix of music, variety acts, and striptease. Burlesque gave birth to the go-go dancers of the 1960s, but within ten years, the art form died out with the advent of modern gentleman's clubs, and all-nude entertainment.

Fed up with the media saturation of narrowly appealing sexual imagery, the celebration of unrealistic body types, the eroticization of girls, and the raunchy and explicit atmosphere of modern strip clubs, Glitzkrieg revives the tease.

UPCOMING SHOWS:

February 7, 2004 - D&D Book of Erotic Fantasy Release Party at the Catwalk Club. Includes a showing by local artists, book signings, DJ Eternal Darkness, a fantasy-themed performance by Glitzkrieg, and a fantasy-themed performance by Abney Park.

February 14, 2004 - Valentine's Day Massacre at Doc Maynard's in Pioneer Square. GLITZKRIEG's official debut!

February 20, 2004 - "Mardi Bras" Burlesque Contest at Doc Maynard's in Pioneer Square. Our troupe, has 4 open spots for girls interested in competing in a performance contest on February 20th! From absolute beginners to pros, everyone is welcome to come strut their stuff on stage. (If it makes those of you less experienced feel more comfortable, please know that 2 of the 3 girls already signed up have never done burlesque before.) Contestants drink for FREE all night and first prize is $100! What do you have to lose? Go here for more info: http://www.glitzkriegburlesque.com
